Cigarettes will be allowed to be sold to children over the age of 14 if they have an average score at school above 8.5

On Children's Day, the Government decided to please the young citizens of Armenia. From September 1, students with a high grade point average will be able to legally buy cigarettes, and not ask any of the seniors.

Deputy from the ruling party Mariam Poghosian commented on this bill:

'Unfortunately, Armenian children still start smoking at an early age. This way we can at least motivate them to study well, show them that everything needs to be achieved with their mind and work.'
