The obligation of Armenian women to give birth before the age of 27 will be enshrined in the Constitution

Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan stated this at a recent press conference: 'We have a goal of 5 million people. Velvet times are behind; in the face of danger, you need to act as quickly and boldly as possible.
Statistics show that recently the average age at which children are born has risen sharply. At this rate, we won’t have any people left.'

In response to a journalist’s question about what will happen if Armenian women won't have time to give birth before the age of 27, the minister explained: “The fines will be similar to evading military service. We have absolute gender equality.”
