A school named after a criminal boss will be renamed in Vardenis

The city authorities decided to rename School No. 2, named in honor of entrepreneur and philanthropist Edward Poghosian, known as 'Edo Aluminum'. Some public figures believe that he was allegedly a criminal authority, which has not yet been officially confirmed. The decision to rename it was made after the appeal of activists from among the parents of students, who are concerned about what kind of example is being set to the younger generation.

Poghosian died on March 16, 1999 in a shootout with the 'Rudolf Cabaret' gang, in whose honor it is proposed to rename the school. The final decision will be made before January 1.
